The Spanish National Conference of the project Compete4SECAP will take place next 24th September in the city of Murcia. This conference will be developed under the theme: “The energy management in the local policy”. The session will be opened by the Director of Energy Policy of the European Commission, Mrs. Cristina Lobillo, talking about the implications of the European Green Deal in the local energy policy.

The session will also count with the National Coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, Mr. Miguel Morcillo, who will explain to the attendants municipalities and stakeholders the new Covenant approach integrating mitigation, adaptation and energy poverty fight in a sole action plan representing the local action against climate change.

The energy poverty local fight will be also treated in the conference, by hand of the expert Rainer Gehrig from the Universidad Católica de Murcia.

During the conference the certification body AENOR will also deliver the Energy Management certifications (under ISO 50001) to the municipalities participating in the project: Ceutí, Cieza, Las Torres de Cotillas and Murcia. The energy competition award will be also given to the Spanish winner, represented by the Municipal Library of Cieza. This award has been materialized in the improvement of the office lighting to be more efficient in its use.
