Happy New Year 2020: Germany is off to a good start!

The German C4S-Partner Municipalities started 2020 off with a bang!

6th January 2020 marked the official close out of our local Energy Savings Competition, and the participating cities of Amt-Hohe-Elbgeest, Hohen-Neuendorf and Greifswald now wait with baited breath to find out their respective positions on the leader board. Now, “all” that is left to be done is to hand out the prizes!

2020 marks a fortunate year for C4S in Germany, as we have been given the opportunity to participate in the coveted “Berliner Energietage”, a two-day international event (04.05.2020 – 06.05.2020), offering insight into the fields of energy policy and global
environmental issues.

The Prize Giving Ceremony for the winner(s) of our local Energy Savings Competition will be held over the course of this event. It is anticipated that any publicity gleaned will further promote the good work already achieved through C4S, and additionally motivate a wider range of local municipalities to ‘team up for energy’.

Participants will be judged, first and foremost, on the cumulative amount of heat and electricity saved in their respective municipal buildings, as compared to their baseline readings. Additional points for creativity, teamwork and the effective implementation of
the European Energy Award (eea) Energy Management System will also be allocated.

Alongside the Prize Giving Ceremony, B & S.U. intends to fully utilise our slot within the “Berliner Energietage” to facilitate “Sharing” and “Lessons Learned” Sessions, Exchange-Workshops and “Actual vs. Planned” Analyses.

It is intended that these activities serve as a conducive platform to empower participants in airing their comments, feedback and criticism on the running of the project.

Which Energy-Team will be crowned “German Energy Savings Champion”? We wish all participants the very best of luck!
